Who can join the Nurses' Health Study 3?
Who is eligible to
participate in NHS3?
- FEMALE Nurses.
- Ages of 22 and 45.
- Living in the United States or Canada
- “Nurses” include Registered Nurses (RNs) and
Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPNs/LVNs).
- Specialized RNs such as Nurse Practitioners
(NP), Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) or other RNs holding Advance
Practice
certifications/licensures (e.g. Certified Nurse Midwife).
- Nurses who have earned non-nursing health-related
degrees (e.g. MD, DDS, PhD).
- Nurses who no longer work in nursing.
- Current participant of Growing-Up Today Study
(GUTS)
Who IS NOT eligible
participate in NHS3?
- Males
- Younger than 22 or older than 45
- Nursing Students
- Living outside the United States or Canada
- Women in nursing-related fields who are not
RNs or LPNs/LVNs such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care
Assistant (PCA), State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA), Nursing Assistant-Registered
(NA/R).
- Allied-health professionals who are not
nurses such as Physician Assistants, Dietitians, Respiratory/
Occupational/Physical Therapist, Speech Pathologists, etc.
- Current participant of NHS or NHS2
